Our free range chickens are full of wonderful flavour, succulent and tender. Roasted whole makes an iconic British dish for all of the family. The whole chicken showcases all of the best bits, the tender, moist, breast; the darker, slightly gamey thigh and of course the sweet tasting drumstick!
The Hairy Bikers called these chickens “some of the happiest in Britain”. They are housed in spacious, specially developed sheds and, at first light, the sheds are opened and the birds spill out onto 200 acres of English pasture, where they are free to graze, play and socialise until sundown……what a life!
Each Chicken weighs approximately 2.0 – 2.2kg, which will serve 4.

Our free range chicken is supplied by Packington Free Range, who’s philosophy is simple – what’s good for the chickens and the land will naturally be good for us. It’s this philosophy that enables us to provide the most succulent, richly flavoured meat, often lost in todays intensive farming methods.
Pre-heat the oven to 180c.
Lightly cover the chicken breast with butter and lightly season with sea salt and ground pepper.
Place in a large baking dish and cook for 25 minutes per kg, until the chicken is tender and the juices run clear when the thigh is pierced close to the bone with a sharp knife.
Once cooked, remove from the oven and rest for 10 minutes.
