Our Herefordshire pork belly ticks all the boxes you could ask for when it comes to free range pork.
With its crisp, crunchy skin and tender meat that melts in the mouth, pork belly is simply stunning. Its versatility and sweet, deep, flavour adds to its charm and, when cooked properly, is undoubtedly one of our favourite cuts to cook with.
Our free range pork is sourced from known and trusted local farms, just a few miles from our shop in Bromyard.

Our pork is truly free range, living outdoors for their whole lives. They have space to roam our beautiful Herefordshire countryside, grazing, foraging and socialising. We truly believe that this traditional, free-range, way of farming is the best and most sustainable and is in line with our ethos.
We’re exceptionally proud of our pork. Sourced from known and trusted local farms, our skilled butchers prepare the pork on the premises. We use the whole animal so every pork item in our shop comes from these pigs. You can find our pork not only on the fresh meat counter, but also in our home made sausages, pork pies and much much more.
Score the skin of the belly, in slashes about 1cm apart, and rub with sea salt making sure you get right into the cracks.
Roast in the oven at 220c for 25 minutes, creating the most crispy, tasty, crackling.
Reduce your oven temperature to 160c and cook for a further 2 hours.
Remove the crackling before carving, slice into thick slices and mashed potato and savoy cabbage.
The leftovers (if there are any!), served cold with some homemade mayonnaise and apple sauce, are arguably even more delicious.
